Bangalore to Aurangabad via Hospet, Solapur, Beed road trip in January 2021 by Parag Sachania
Roadtrip report: Bangalore to Aurangabad
Route Taken: Bangalore - Chitradurga - Hospet - Vijayapura - Sholapur - Osmanabad - Beed - Aurangabad
Distance: 940 Kms.
Start time: 0357 (Yelahanka, Bangalore)
End time: 1604 (Station Road, Yelahanka)
Breaks: Breakfast (15m), Lunch (15m), Refueling (5m), Bio Break (5m)
Refueling: End of Beed bypass (HPCL)
Breakfast break : Nanadagokula Restaurant, near Kudilgi (Earlier was known as Sangam International)
Road Condition:
Bangalore - Chitradurga: Nothing specific, all good
Chitradurga - Hospet: Wonderful road, all good
Hospet - Vijayapura: Although 4 lane till Vijayapura, the surface is a mix of good and bad. The highlight of course are the innumerable speedbreakers at almost every break in the median, few with signage and few others without. A superb example of why speedbreakers are called “SPEED BREAKERS”
Vijayapura - Sholapur: 4 Lane expansion work is in Progress with multiple diversions. Avoid this under dark as diversions are badly marked often you will witness 2 way traffic on both sides of the corridor only because few hav either missed a diversion while few others know that this is a regular affair
Sholapur Bypass: I had to cross this messy city to reach the other side. Took around 45 minutes including some really narrow and busy lanes on a Sunday afternoon.
Sholapur – Tuljapur – Osmanabad – Beed Aurangabad: EXCELLENT! Perhaps the best stretch to drive in my own recent part. Well marked, well engineering, well banked, extremely consistent road surface including levelled bridges and culverts. A big thumbs up to the consortium that built this. Ashok Kheny from NICE can take some tutorials to know how roads are built and can still be safe.

Wagon R hit a truck from behind on NH65 between Vzd and Hyd on 2021-02-21
No wonders that everyone in the car are totally safe.
It's not the much hobnobbed build of car that kills. It's stupidity of a driver that kills.
No further details of the cause of the mishap is known.
When on the road, always remain 'High On Cognition'.
