Bangalore - Pondicherry - Bangalore road trip in EV Hyundai Kona in end March 2021

Akhil Venkateshwaran did a Bangalore-Chennai-Pondicherry-Bangalore trip in end March 2021. Bangalore-Chennai-Pondy is well travelled, and lots of info available, hence will skip this route.
Took the Pondy-Tindivanam-Gingee-Tiruvannamalai-Chengam-Singarapettai-Thirupatthur-Krishnagiri-Bangalore.
Left at the French Quarter at 2.30PM, reached Vijayanagar, Bangalore by 9.30PM with a 45 minute stop at Krishnagiri to charge my Hyundai Kona and for food.

Observations:
Pondy-Tindivanam : Smooth roads, sparse traffic, till Tindivanam town, which took about 5-10 minutes to cross.
Tindivanam-Gingee-Tiruvannamalai: Again, good surface throughout, with some small potholes here and there. Nothing to note, can very easily keep to 80-90kph in this stretch.
Tiruvannamalai-Singarapettai: Some diversions, potholes, and rough surfaces due to ongoing construction work, around 15km before Singarapettai. Not a major problem at all.
Singarapettai-Thirupatthur-Bargur-Krishnagiri: Singarapettai to Bargur is very scenic, butter smooth roads, although with lots of speedbreakers. Really enjoyed a countryside drive, lined with huge trees and fields on both sides of the road, after a long time.
The most popular route between Bangalore-Pondicherry these days is through Arcot-Vandavasi, and while that probably has higher average speeds, it is 40 km longer than the above route.
Posting this as a viable option for people who don't want to travel the extra distance.
Total cost of fuel for the full 911km circuit: Rs. 845/-. Breakup and a photo of the Kona charging up at Zeon charging station in Krishnagiri attached.

Merchandise carried by a truck/ trailer continues in its state of motion if the vehicle is forced to stop abruptly

The life of a truck driver is so full of risk and uncertainty.
They are in that profession to feed themselves and their dear ones.
Most long distance truck drivers are extremely discilplined.
And there are retards, viz. the new age roadies who with the bat of an eyelid call the truck drivers 'idiots' 😠
These truck drivers are invariably blamed for every mishap, irrespective of whether they were at fault or not.
Indian Roadie salutes every long distance truck driver 🙏

If one or more brands come forward to support me, I (Deep Banerjee) as the founder of Indian Roadie can roll out a lot of unique safety and sensitizing programs targeting long distance truckers pan-India.

Note: The attached sad video received via WhatsApp is said to be from China.

Bangalore to Aurangabad via Hospet, Solapur, Beed road trip in January 2021 by Parag Sachania

Roadtrip report: Bangalore to Aurangabad

Route Taken: Bangalore - Chitradurga - Hospet - Vijayapura - Sholapur - Osmanabad - Beed - Aurangabad

Distance: 940 Kms.

Start time: 0357 (Yelahanka, Bangalore)

End time: 1604 (Station Road, Yelahanka)

Breaks: Breakfast (15m), Lunch (15m), Refueling (5m), Bio Break (5m)

Refueling: End of Beed bypass (HPCL)

Breakfast break : Nanadagokula Restaurant, near Kudilgi (Earlier was known as Sangam International)

Road Condition:

Bangalore - Chitradurga: Nothing specific, all good

Chitradurga - Hospet: Wonderful road, all good

Hospet - Vijayapura: Although 4 lane till Vijayapura, the surface is a mix of good and bad. The highlight of course are the innumerable speedbreakers at almost every break in the median, few with signage and few others without. A superb example of why speedbreakers are called “SPEED BREAKERS”

Vijayapura - Sholapur: 4 Lane expansion work is in Progress with multiple diversions. Avoid this under dark as diversions are badly marked often you will witness 2 way traffic on both sides of the corridor only because few hav  either missed a diversion while few others know that this is a regular affair

Sholapur Bypass: I had to cross this messy city to reach the other side. Took around 45 minutes including some really narrow and busy lanes on a Sunday afternoon.

Sholapur – Tuljapur – Osmanabad – Beed Aurangabad: EXCELLENT! Perhaps the best stretch to drive in my own recent part. Well marked, well engineering, well banked, extremely consistent road surface including levelled bridges and culverts. A big thumbs up to the consortium that built this. Ashok Kheny from NICE can take some tutorials to know how roads are built and can still be safe.

MG Hector crash in Goa on 2021-02-21

There were 3 vehicles involved in a scary crash on Marcel-Banastari Road in Goa at around 9.00 pm on Sunday, 2021-02-21.

A 2 wheeler, a Maruti Swift and a MG Hector which suffered the maximum damage were involved in the crash.
The mishap supposedly happened just about 10 mins after the same MG had overtaken a roadie, Shantaram Prabhu Chimulkar in a tearing hurry by continuously flashing the headlights on the typically narrow and winding roads that Goa is famous for.

Shantaram was also in a hurry and therefore didn't stop to enquire about the details.

Although the exact reason for the crash couldn't be ascertained, Shantaram predicted that the 2 wheeler possibly grazed the right side of the Swift while overtaking, lost balance and hit the oncoming MG Hector.
The Swift had possibly not collided with the MG at all.

Details of casualties or injuries could not be ascertained.

Wagon R hit a truck from behind on NH65 between Vzd and Hyd on 2021-02-21

On NH65, a high speed corridor of 295 kms between Vijayawada and Hyderabad on Sunday, 2021-02-21.
From the photos, it's obvious that the Wagon R was not being driven at high speed when the mishap occured.
No wonders that everyone in the car are totally safe.
It's not the much hobnobbed build of car that kills. It's stupidity of a driver that kills.
No further details of the cause of the mishap is known.
