Day 1 - Panjim to Shirdi

Kopargaon, Yeola, Manmad, Malegaon, Dhule, Sangvi, Palasner, Sendhwa, Balsamund, Thikri, Manpur, Bhicholi, Indore bypass, Dewas, Maksi, Shajapur bypass, Pachore, Biaora, Guna, Puran Khadi toll plaza, Padora, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Morena, Chambal River Bridge, Dholpur, Utangan River Bridge, Agra, Mathura.

Day 3 - Delhi to Shimla
via. Meerut, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Dehradun.

Gwalior to Dehradun to Mussoorie, route and itinerary by Anoop Sawant in December 2019

Anoop Sawant, a resident of Gwalior drove 1200 odd kms covering Gwalior - Delhi - Dehradun - Mussoorie - Noida - Gwalior in his Nexon XM petrol during the first week December 2019.

His son was passing out from Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.

Day 1: He drove on Mumbai - Agra highway up to Agra, a stretch of 120 odd kms. Then on Agra - Noida Yamuna Expressway for another 160 kms. From Noida he drove on Eastern Peripheral Expressway up to Meerut. Thereafter, it was single road for 30 odd kms via Hans Canal Road. Finally it was Saharanpur - Dehradun Highway.
The 557 kms was traversed in 10 hrs.

Day 2: After finishing the passing out program in Dehradun they went to Mussoorie, an hour's drive on a hilly terrain.

Day 3: Mussoorie.

Day 4: They stayed in Mussoorie for 2 nights and drove back to NOIDA and stayed the night at Noida. 

Day 5: Drove back home from Noida to Gwalior.

Delhi to Mussoorie road trip by Gaurav Tomar in November 2019

Trip update - Delhi to Mussoorie

23/11/2019 - Delhi to Doon approx 260 kms done in 3 hrs 45 mins. Started early morning at 5:40 and reached Doon by 9:20.
Spent sometime at Robber's Cave then moved to Mussoorie, checked in then visited Clouds End in the evening followed by shopping and Dinner at Mall Road.

Route taken:
Delhi - Raj Nagar ext. - Muradnagar - Upper Ganga Canal road - Khatauli - Muzaffarnagar Bypass - Deoband - Gagalheri - Dehradun.
Fantastic roads with toll of 130 rupees (No FasTag as it's SH59).

24/11/2019 - Checked out from hotel by 10:00 for breakfast at Mall Road then moved towards Lal Tibba.
Started return journey around 13:00, reached back home by 21:00.

Same route taken for return except Ganga Canal from Khatauli, google diverted us to Ganga canal road at some point due to traffic ahead.
Toll paid 130 rupees + 85.00 rupees (via FasTag on NH).

Total trip was 618 kms over the weekend.

* Accomodation in Mussoorie - The Kenilworth Hotel, good hotel at Mall Road with Parking.
* Aggarwal Vegetarian restaurant, highly recommended place for very tasty veg food.
* Entry to Mall Road is 150 rupees (it was required to reach hotel) every time. This was an expensive affair if staying on Mall Road.
* Cars cannot ply on Mall Road between 16:00 and 22:00.
* Parking at Lal Tibba was for 100 rupees.
* Clouds End resort (so called scenic point) entry is for 150 rupees, not worth at all as you get better views a little before this resort.

1969 North India drive in a Standard10 car with Baba Ma

In 1969 (hopefully, I'm getting the year right), when I was barely 7 years old, my parents took me out on a 3000+ kms drive from my hometown Barakar (near Asansol) to Allahabad, Agra, Faridabad, N.Delhi, Haridwar, DehraDun, Mussoorie, Nainital, Lucknow, Varanasi and back to Barakar in September/ October (during the Durga Puja vacation) in this miniature Standard 10 car that you get to see in the pic.
There was no Golden Quadrilateral and NH2 (popularly, known as the GT Road) had more potholes than bitumen on the road surface. I fail to fathom how 5 adults and 2 kids including my younger brother and me fitted into this matchbox
