Kms Of India - Goods carrier Tempo spotted in Madhopur, Punjab in 2018

Spotted this grand old Tempo 3 wheeler at a filling station in Madhopur, Punjab.

Only a handful of these are still seen ferrying people and goods in some pockets of rural and semi-urban India.

The design is intriguing because the two rear wheels had an inwards slant of nearly 30 degrees at the points of contact with the road. As the load increased, the wheels straightened up.

Kms Of India - Tempo being used as passenger vehicle in Punjab

Popular mode of public transport which can be spotted even on National Highways in Punjab in 2023.

'Bhatsuar' was what these vehicles were called because of its looks, in certain parts of India.

In some places, people used to call these 'Ganeshji'!

The design was intriguing because the two rear wheels had an inwards slant of nearly 30 degrees at the points of contact with the road. As the load increased, the wheels straightened up.

A true roadie will drive with his eyes wide open during the day to spot these rare gems of yesteryears.
