Mumbai to North Goa in Triumph SpeedTwin by Roopesh Shah in February 2021

Roopesh Shah did Powai, Mumbai to Morjim, Goa on his Triumph SpeedTwin on Friday, 5th February 2021. Triumph SpeedTwin is a small, light and fast machine but comes with slightly hard suspension and doesn't like to be off tarmac.
Route was superb - almost 99% smooth tarmac with no issues at all. That 1% is what nature does to roads in any case.
Read on in the 1st person  ....
Started packing and just before 6am with enough fuel to take me over a 100 kms. Getting out of Mumbai was easy with little to no traffic anywhere. I did manage to find a huge jam on the common section of the expressway before Lonavla. Filtered through without any issue. Noticed it just cops pulling over random trucks that was causing the jam. I was tempted to stop for chai at Lonavla but pushed ahead. Made the first fuel-only stop at Kamshet. Maybe 10 mins tops to fuel-up and pay. This was at about 7.30 am or so.
Next run what I thought will be filled with traffic turned out to be a joy to get though was from Kamshet through Pune and reaching McDonald's at Khed-Shivapur Toll. Reached there before 8.30am. Was famished and got a burger + coffee. My next stop was directly a fuel-stop just before Kolhapur. Again 10 mins bio break and fuel up. Smooth roads right through.
Next up was directly at Goa Ves, Tavandi Ghat to take the right into Amboli ghat. Met a few other bikers and rode along for a bit. I think they wanted to make stops for pix and fly-bys so didn't linger on. Next stop was one quick ThumsUp at Banda at 1.40 pm. I reached Morjim before 2.30 pm.
Troubled sections could be down to the Ajara - Sawantwadi section where the winding narrow highway is not new. Rest was all smooth as it could be.
