Kiran Kakkattil drove from Mangalore to Bangalore on 2018-09-02.
While driving from Bangalore to Mangalore, Google Maps had showed the route via Charmady Ghat correctly as Shiradi Ghat was closed.
While returning, Google Maps showed him the Shiradi Ghat route and did not show Charmadi Ghat at all. Kiran took the Shiradi Ghat route and was stopped at the gate. He had to drive back for 90 kms and via Dharmasthala to reach Charmady (Charmadi) and lost 90 mins.
He has advised motorists travelling on that route to not just trust Gmaps and seek for confirmation from someone.
