Mysteriously a huge multi-axle container truck climbed the median divider, near Kongarpara village (under the jurisdiction of Memari police station) in East Bardhaman district of West Bengal, between Dankuni Toll Plaza and Palsit Toll Plaza on a near empty NH19 and crashed into an oncoming dumper truck in broad daylight. One of the drivers lost his life on the spot.
Both the trucks were badly damaged.
The incident happened in mid-June 2025.
The video footage starts almost 1 min 45 seconds prior to the crash so that viewers can have an idea of the traffic condition on that stretch of Durgapur Expressway (NH19) prior to the actual deadly mishap.
It appears that the container driver had either dozed off because of sleep deprivation or was distracted while shooting videos for social media.
