Massive Landslide Blocks BCT Highway in Dirang, Vehicles Damaged

Dirang, Aug 25, 2025:

A massive landslide on Monday blocked the Balipara-Chariduar-Tawang (BCT) National Highway at Km 191.70, between Sapper Camp and Nyukmadung in Dirang. While no casualties were reported, several vehicles sustained damage in the incident.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has deployed manpower and heavy machinery to clear the debris, with restoration work expected to continue overnight. Officials informed that efforts are underway to restore traffic at the earliest.

The landslide has caused significant disruption to surface communication, and commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly.
