One person was found dead floating in water after electrocution near CNMC on 2025-09-23

The person lost his life and found floating in the waterlogged CIT Road after getting electrocuted early in the morning on 2025-09-23 following a single bout of torrential rainfall from 2 am to 4.30 am. 

Location: Near Ganguram's Sweet shop on CIT Road, Entally, Kolkata (near, Calcutta National Medical College).

App cab wading through the inundated road in Kolkata on 2025-09-23

Whole of Kolkata was under water after 250+ mm of torrential rainfall from 1.30 am to 4.30 am on Tuesday 2025-09-23. 

Atleast 11 persons reportedly lost their lives primarily because of electrocution. 

Attached video of an app cab wading through the inundated road is representative of the terrible waterlogging in all roads in Kolkata and Howrah on 2025-09-23 afternoon.

Kolkata flooded after cloudburst on 2025-09-23 night

Cloudburst over Kolkata from 1.30 am to 4.30 am on 2025-09-23 night resulted in a record 252 mm rain. The resultant flood drowned Kolkata and disrupted flights, trains, electric supply and daily life throughout the day, stretching upto the night and even the following day. 

11 people lost their lives because of electrocution.

Man sandwiched between two buses after Kolkata deluge on 2025-09-23

After unprecedented torrential rains in Kolkata and surroundings during the night from 1.30 am to 4.30 am on 2025-09-23, whole of Kolkata got inundated. Buses in most routes had to withdraw their services. Nevertheless, people had to reach their workplace clinging onto whatever public transport that was available. 

The fate of the man hanging out from a bus which was overtaking another bus is not known 😰 

Some sources say that the roadie who was out on the road (out of compulsion) miraculously escaped unhurt 🤔

Ushoshi Sengupta and UBER cab driver harasses by bike borne helmetless Muslim goons on 2019-06-17

The short video that Ms. Ushoshi Sengupta, Miss India 2010 managed to record while the helmetless 'muslim' goons on bikes attacked Tarak, her UBER cab driver on Monday, 2019-06-17 around 11.40pm, near Exide crossing in Kolkata.

Ushoshi was also cursed, harassed and tugged.

She ran to the cops stationed at the Maidan Police Station barely 50 mtrs away. The cops refused to help her because the place where the incident was happening was on the other side of the road and was under the jurisdiction of Bhowanipore Police Station. It was only when she broke down and kept pleading for help that the cops reluctantly relented. They caught two of those rogues but were outnumbered

When she was nearing her residence well past midnight about 8 kms away in Lake Gardens, a peaceful residential locality of south Kolkata, six of the helmetless goons in two bikes tracked and blocked the UBER cab once again. They thrashed the driver, smashed the windscreen and hurled a couple of bricks at the car.

Hearing the commotion local residents approached her and then only the goons fled.
