The accident happened at 2 am on NICE Road, Bangalore Bypass. 

The most significant statement from the driver of the car, who survived:

"Mahendran is said to have told the police that he could not apply the brakes as a water bottle fell under the brake pedal. This led to the accident." 

Here is a joke of a news report. It concedes that the accident happened because the driver fell asleep, but wants Driving Licenses processes to be reformed. Do tougher Driving Licensing tests prevent Sleep or Fatigue? 

"Overspeeding is the reason for the accident. The car caught fire due to the impact of the collision. The car, after crossing the median, started moving on the opposite lane and collided head-on with the lorry. Even the lorry overturned after the collision,” Shiva Prakash Devaraju, DCP (South Traffic), said. 

This is scary! How on earth did he manage to get to the opp side of NICE road when there are those large greenfield trenches as the median for most part?

They won't know that there's a Vivekananda statue overlooking NH16 in Tuni, a microwave tower in Guntur, a sharp cut in the hillock on NH44 South of Tirunelveli as one drives to Kanyakumari, there's a famous Poopara Tea Estate of Harrison Malayalam, etc, etc, etc. Even during the day they are blind to all these because they are busy staring at the Amrikan arrow/ dot moving on a screen or are more fixated to the maximum speed they can clock or are busy recording Reels or YouTube videos. Schooling was a waste for them. They scored 93.8% in school leaving exams in spite of writing that Macbeth was penned by SEX-PEAR, a taakla with pointed beard.

Two wheelers kept skidding on wet mud near Ecopark, Newtown, Kolkata on 2025-10-30

Quite a few two wheelers with men and women office goers and parents with school going children skidded on the wet and sticky mud spilled on the main 6-lane road near Ecopark by dumpers carrying the mud for construction purpose in Newtown, Kolkata on Thursday 2025-10-30 morning. 

There were reports of minor to serious injuries sustained by unsuspecting riders. 

Initially local residents tried to warn the riders some distance away from the worst affected stretches. Police officials came in to control the scary situation much later.

Whole of Kolkata was under water after 250+ mm of torrential rainfall from 1.30 am to 4.30 am on Tuesday 2025-09-23. 

Atleast 11 persons reportedly lost their lives primarily because of electrocution. 

Attached video of an app cab wading through the inundated road is representative of the terrible waterlogging in all roads in Kolkata and Howrah on 2025-09-23 afternoon.

Kolkata flooded after cloudburst on 2025-09-23 night

Cloudburst over Kolkata from 1.30 am to 4.30 am on 2025-09-23 night resulted in a record 252 mm rain. The resultant flood drowned Kolkata and disrupted flights, trains, electric supply and daily life throughout the day, stretching upto the night and even the following day.

Man sandwiched between two buses after Kolkata deluge on 2025-09-23

After unprecedented torrential rains in Kolkata and surroundings during the night from 1.30 am to 4.30 am on 2025-09-23, whole of Kolkata got inundated. Buses in most routes had to withdraw their services. Nevertheless, people had to reach their workplace clinging onto whatever public transport that was available.

Trailer truck fell off a bridge without railings into the swirling water of Barakar River in Giridih district

Multi-axle trailer truck crashed into the railings and fell off a bridge into the swirling water of Barakar River between Giridih and Dumri in Giridih district, Jharkhand in pitch darkness on 2025-07-01. The driver managed to come out from the prime mover and cling onto the cabin for almost 3 hours before he could be rescued by the locals and authorities after sunrise. 

Possibilities are high that the driver was another HCV_driver_vlogger (with high aspirations) who was busy recording videos for the social media all by himself, blabbering nonsense and also driving (all at the same time). It's highly possible that the mishap occurred because of over confidence and loss of concentration on the road.

Volvo XC90 crushed under loaded container truck in Koramangala, near Bangalore on 2024-12-21

A loaded multi-axle container truck in its bid to avoid rear ending a passenger car which supposedly had abruptly slowed down lost control, jumped the median divider and overturned on an oncoming Volvo XC90 SUV at Neelamangala, near Bangalore on Saturday 2024-12-21 morning. 

The car belonged  to one Chandram who was the CEO of an IT company. He was on his way to Vijayapura/ Bijapur with his family to meet his ailing father. 

All 6 occupants in the SUV were crushed to death.

Hyundai Creta skidded on black ice near north portal of Atal Tunnel, 1 killed

A Hyundai Creta with Delhi registration plates (DL9CAT9501) and with 4 people on board overtook a Toyota Fortuner at high speed and skidded onto an oncoming truck. It lost control after it landed on black ice under a thick layer of snow. The Creta had no snow chain or special tyres fitted on it. 

One person reportedly was killed on the spot. 

It was a case of ignorance, over confidence and recklessness. The driver and co-passengers were obviously of the feeling that accidents happen to others only and that they were automobile enthusiasts, although in reality they were the typical 'enchutiasts' seen in plentiful on roads throughout India. 

Mountains are beautiful, and dangerous, too. Please drive carefully in the mountains and never drink and drive. 

Irrespective of whether you are in the mountains or plains, in a short drive or a long drive, always remain 'High On Cognition'.

Driverless car on fire started rolling forward in Jaipur on 2024-10-12

A car belonging to Jitendra Jangid, a resident of Divya Darshan Apartment in Mansarovar, Jaipur had smoke coming out from the vehicle’s air conditioning unit while driving. The owner exited the vehicle, lifted the bonnet, and found the engine already in flames. The fire damaged the handbrake of the car resulting in the driverless car to start rolling down the street and gaining momentum. 

The driverless car caused panic among road users after it erupted in flames while speeding down the busy Ajmer Road in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The incident occurred near Sudarshanpura Pulia on Saturday 2024-10-12.

 A fire tender reached the the rolling car reasonably fast but the car was fully gutted by then. No injuries were reported.

Serial crash on Hosur Krishnagiri Highway on 2024-08-25

One person died and 11 others were injured in a serial collision involving 10 vehicles at Perandapllai (near the Sanamavu reserve forest area) on Hosur Krishnagiri National Highway in Tamilnadu at around 3.30 pm on Sunday 2024-08-25. 

A granite stones loaded truck from Hyderabad was heading from Hosur to Krishnagiri.

The driver, K Karthik (31), a resident of Keeripatty near Attur in Salem district slammed the brakes to avoid rear ending the car in front after it suddenly slowed down. Nevertheless, the truck rammed into the car. Following the sudden collision, six cars, a container truck, and a government bus crashed into the marble-laden truck one after the other. 

The deceased has been identified as D Ravi (55), of Jakkarapalli near Krishnagiri. He was the manager in a private school near Hosur. He was seriously injured and died at the Krishnagiri Government Medical College Hospital. 

Of the remaining 11, five were taken to a private hospital in Hosur, while three were transferred to NIMHANS hospital in Bengaluru at the patients’ request.

The Hudco police have filed a case against Karthik for causing the accident and have taken him into custody. The traffic on the NH was affected for two hours.  

S Velvizhi (65), her son S Bhoopesh Kumar (35), both from Krishnagiri; N Venkatesh (33), C Karthik (26), S Durai (24), R Aravind (30), M Sabari (32), S Mouli (32), all from Coimbatore; H Rafiya (21), B Thanveer Khan (39), and T Mujuman Kousar (24), all from Bengaluru, were injured in the accident.

The Hudco police arrived at the spot and took the injured people to the government hospital in Hosur for medical attention.

The traffic on the NH was affected for over two hours.

Car bus collision near Etawah on Agra Lucknow Expressway on 2024-08-04

At least seven people were killed and 40 others were injured after a car whose driver possibly fell asleep, veered out of control, crossed the median, and crashed into a night bus on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway at around 12.30 am on Sunday 2024-08-04. After the collision, both vehicles plunged approximately 20 feet down into a ravine near Usrahar in Etawah, UP. 

The seven killed were three occupants of the car and four passengers of the bus. Since the vehicles fell into the gorge, the rescue team comprising of police personnel formed a human chain to rescue the injured and shifted them to hospitals.

The bus with a Nagaland registration, was carrying 60 passengers and was on its way to Delhi from Raebareli. The family including a woman in the car with a Kanauj registration was returning to Talgram in Kannauj after paying a visit to Mehndipur Balaji in Rajasthan.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Etawah, Sanjay Verma confirmed that the accident took place after the car crossed into the opposite lane, leading to the collision. Meanwhile, administrative officials are overseeing the medical treatment and support for the injured, said the SSP.

Motihari to Delhi bound bus rear ended milk tanker Lko-Agra Eway in Unnao district on 2024-07-10. 18 died.

The driver of the sleeper bus on its journey from Motihari in Bihar to Delhi which rammed a milk tanker from behind on Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Jojikot village under the jurisdiction of Behta Mujhawar police station in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh at around 5.15 am on Wednesday 2024-07-10 was clearly tailgating and then trying to overtake the milk tanker from the left. For whatever reason, the milk laden tanker driver driving on the fast lane along the median divider must have slowed down. The bus driver who must have been alien to the term 'High On Cognition' (aka. Expect The Unexpected) when on the road could not brake fast enough and crashed onto the left rear end of the tanker. Almost the entire right hand side of the bus was ripped off. 

Both vehicles overturned after the crash. 

18 people lost their lives and 19 were seriously injured in the road accident. Drivers of the bus and the tanker died.

The initial judgement following the arrest of the 17 yrs old accused involved in the Porsche car crash at Kalyani Nagar, Pune at 2.30 am on 2024-05-19 in which two IT professionals on a bike were killed was a joke on our judiciary system.
