Taste N Twist, Puri. Mobile: 9861499456 is the Indian Roadie preferred 'KHAJA' shop in Puri, Odisha.
The shop is located on the road from Swargdwar to Jagannath Temple.
Taste N Twist rarely sells khaja over the counter. Orders need to be placed in the morning hours. Clients can specify if the khaja has to be sugar free or normal sweet or extra sweet.
A token advance amount needs to be paid while ordering. The final amount has to be paid while delivery is made at the client's hotel or at the shop itself.

Other traditionally popular Khaja shops in Puri are Kakatua and Ganguram.

'Khaja' is a popular dessert of Odisha. Refined wheat flour with sugar is made into layered dough, with or without dry fruit or other stuffing, and lightly fried in oil. Finally it is then deep fried until crisp.
'Khaja' is also prepared and sold in Bihar, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh, besides Odisha.

Suvodip with family will be traveling Kolkata to Puri and back around mid December 2019. He sought for my help to find him an affordable staying option in Puri for about 3 - 4 nights.
On the evening of Monday, 2019-11-11, I myself accompanied Suvodip in his car to book rooms at one of the very little known Indian Roadie Preferred Hotel brands in Puri.
It's one awesome jaw dropping property bang on the beach at the temple town.

The best route for people travelling from anywhere in South India (via NH16) to pay homage at the Jagannath Temple in Puri is as follows
Barkul (Chilka Lake) - Tangi - Rameswar crossing - turn right - Nirakarpur - Pratap Purusottampur - Puri.
The total distance = 106 kms and takes about 2 hrs 15 mins.

Barkul - Rameswar crossing = 66 kms.
Rameswar crossing - Nirakarpur = 4 kms.
Rameswar crossing - Puri = 50 kms.

* Why is he opting for the unconventional route?

To avoid the boring and monotonous NH16 and to explore a new road through hills and forests. And also to see new areas of our grand and majestic country (at least geographically).
And secondly, to avoid not-a-very-meagre amount of toll tax.

** Why has he included Deomali hills?

This hill occupies a very important place in the topographical characteristics of India. It is the highest point in the Eastern ghats. Moreover, Deomali hills is adjacent to the area where people of Bonda Tribe can be seen.
