Saikat Bishnu, the erstwhile utterly ungrateful IndianRoadie member

Saikat Bishnu, a nouveau rich cheap medicine seller in Khardaha, North 24 Parganas district (in the northern fringes of Kolkata) had been ejected from IndianRoadie (in mid May 2016) for his misdemeanors. He usurped lots of benefits from IndianRoadie during his days in the forum.
After being blocked from the forum, I have found him talking/ writing/ trolling unsubstantiated nonsense in other forums/ platforms on numerous occasions (the latest being on 2018-12-15).

It was Saikat who would call me up at odd hours and seek driving tips/ suggestions from me. He has gone to the extent of mentioning that it was me who used to disturb (not, help) him.

He bought a White coloured Mahindra Scorpio around March or April 2015. He would call me up every 2nd day and tell me that his 'new acquisition would be blessed if only I touched it'. A couple of months later, another well regarded gentleman from Mumbai, a great roadie visited Kolkata. The guy met him & told him the same words. Saikat has been writing a whole lot of nonsense about the other gentleman, too.

It's now my open challenge to the uncouth rogue to swear by his little daughter that every word that he has been uttering against me everywhere are NOT fabricated. He should have the courage to list out all the benefits that he derived from Indian Roadie and myself till mid mid-2016.

Kolkata to Baruva, Barkul, Konark, Puri & back in 6 days by Saikat Bishnu in August 2015 (Day 1 - Kolkata to Baruva)

‪Kolkata‬ (West Bengal) to ‪Baruva‬ (Andhra Pradesh) ‪solodrive‬ of 725 kms by Indian Roadie ‎Saikat Bishnu‬ (with wife Mou and 18 months young daughter Samriddhi) on 7th Aug 2015 in his new generation ‪Mahindra Scorpio‬ registered in April 2015.

Trip log of Day 1:
1. Saikat left his residence at Sodepur in the northern fringes of Kolkata at 4.40 am on 2015-08-07. Tripmeter was set to 0 and odometer reading of Scorpio showed 4564 km.
2. Dhulagarh toll plaza - 5.18 am - 34.9 km.
3. Kolaghat bridge - 5.39 am - 74.1 km.
4. Debra toll plaza - 6.40 am - 115.20 km - small break.
5. Belda toll plaza - 7.15 am - 149.4 km.
6. Hotel Aahar, Amarda (breakfast break) - 8.22 am - 231.7 km.
7. Seragarh toll plaza (near Balasore) - 9.29 am - 279.8 km.
8. Panikoili toll plaza - 10.50 am - 376.7km.
9. Manguli toll plaza (entrance to Cuttack) - 11.53 am - 432.4 km.
10. He had barely travelled 5 - 6 kms after the Manguli toll plaza while approaching the Mahanadi River bridge before Cuttack. He was stopped by a team of policemen and was interrogated for about 90 minutes. He was suspected to be the perpetrator of a fatal hit and run case by another white coloured WB registered Scorpio at the Manguli toll plaza minutes ago. He was about to face the wrath of an unruly mob when certain instructions given to him by me (Deep Banerjee) over the phone saved him from further police harassment and also from being assaulted or even worse.
Witnesses from the accident spot were also summoned. Fortunately, they managed to convince the police & the unruly gathering that Saikat's Scorpio was not the killer vehicle.
11. Gudipada toll plaza - 3.28 pm - 533.9 km.
12. Gurpali toll plaza - 4.32 pm - 603 km.
13. Delayed by 30 minutes at the Icchapuram border check post because both flanks of NH5 were blocked by Orissa/ Bengal bound trucks and an overturned sand laden truck. Some amount of negotiation with the police and a bit of offroading helped him to move towards Andhra Pradesh.
14. Balupada toll plaza - 5.54 pm, trip 690.2 km.
15. Though every possible details were provided by me to Saikat, he still made a mistake of exiting NH5 and entering a wrong village road for Baruva resort. After negotiating a total of 7 kms on muddy village road he was back on NH5.
16. However, soon he found his way to the right point from where one has to turn left from NH5 and proceed towards the Baruva branch of SBI and onwards to the lighthouse after crossing the manned railway level crossing of the Howrah-Chennai railway line.
17. Reached ‎Aptdc Beach Resort Baruva‬ (sharing a common boundary with the lighthouse of Ministry of Shipping, Govt of India) at 6.38 pm. Tripmeter reading 725.4 km, odometer reading 5254 km.

NH5 to the resort = 5 kms.

Note: Saikat had to take number of small breaks enroute to feed his 18 months young baby daughter.

Route: Kolkata - Kharagpur - Jaleshwar - Balasore - Bhadrak - Cuttack - Bhubaneswar - Khurda - Barkul - Brahmapur - Ichapuram - Sompeta - upto 1 km short of Korlam - turn left to exit NH5 - proceed 5 kms to Aptdc Baruva Beach Resort.

Indian Roadie, Deep Banerjee provided Saikat Bishnu every assistance, starting from suggesting Baruva as an ‪ideal ‎'Indian Roadie Splash Drive 2015'‬ destination to planning the route, booking of accommodation, periodic enquiry of his progress on the road, etc.

Kolkata - Tarapith - Massanjor - Trikut Parvat - Kolkata road trip by Tata Manza in July 2015

‪Indian Roadie‬ Saikat Bishnu (resident of Sodepur in the northern fringes of Kolkata) is a devotee of Tarama and Bamdev. He drives to the temple town of ‪#‎Tarapith‬ (Birbhum district, West Bengal) with his dear ones for rituals at least twice every month.
On 2017-07-15 morning, he drove with wife and infant daughter to Tarapith in his ‪Tata Manza‬.
After a night halt at the temple town, he started his drive back home from Tarapith on 2017-07-16 as early as 5am.
The couple decided to have their morning cup of tea by the Mayurakshi River at ‎Massanjor‬. They were there at Massanjor at 6.30am to spend about half an hour. With the overhead dark monsoon cloud and the freshly laid black tarmac on the straight road ahead, Saikat could not resist himself to drive to Deoghar via Dumka ‘clock tower’. He reached Trikut Hills by 9am, with ‪‎Deoghar‬ another 15 kms away.
Saikat claims that the Massanjor – Dumka – Deoghar road is one of his favourites due to the scenic beauty (especially during the monsoons). However, he did not drive upto Deoghar town. He clicked a couple of photos at Trikut Hills (on the outskirts of Deoghar town) and took an about turn for the return journey. Trikut Hills (‪Trikut Parvat‬) to Deoghar is around 15 kms.
The nil to moderate drizzle, with the sun playing hide and seek behind the monsoon clouds turned into a downpour. For the family, it was a marvellous experience.
They were back to Massanjor by 11am, had tea and proceed towards Kolkata.
For the return drive from Trikut Hills (Trikut Parvat), it was ‪‎Dumka‬ – Massanjor - Saharakuri More – Suri – Bolpur – Guskara – Burdwan – Kolkata.
Saikat Bishnu and family reached home at Sodepur, Kolkata around 4.30pm on 2017-07-16.
Tarapith to Deoghar is 140 km. After driving about 33 kms from Tarapith to Mohammad Bazar and a very short distance of 2 – 3 kms prior to reaching Tilpara Barrage and Suri, one needs to take a right turn from ‪#‎SaharakuriMore‬ on NH60 (popularly known as the Panagarh - Morgram Highway). Massanjor is barely 23 km from Saharakuri More. Proceeding straight takes one to Dumka, Trikut Hills, Deoghar.
For the uninitiated, those travelling from Kolkata towards Dumka, Bhagalpur or Tarapith, Rampurhat or Malda, Siliguri, the Seorakhuri More is only 2 – 3 kms from Tilpara Barrage. It is the first left turn after ‪Tilpara Barrage‬ enroute to Mohammad Bazar, Tarapith.
If heading towards Burdwan, Howrah, Kolkata then after Saharakuri and another 3 kms from Tilpara Barrage and Birbhum Institute of Technology one can exit NH60 (Panagarh Morgram National Hghway), turn left, enter Suri town, cross the railway level crossing, and via Purandarpur reach Bolpur, and onwards to Guskara, Burdwan.
The condition of ‪#‎Suri‬ – Dubrajpur stretch of NH60 is simply pathetic. After reaching NH2 at Panagarh, one can get held up in the road jam for anything between 5 minutes to 2 hours.
For those travelling from Kolkata, to avoid ‎Panagarh‬ and Dubrajpur, from NH2 , take a right turn to ‪Nababhat Shivmandir‬ (also known as ‪108 Shiv Mandir‬) and proceed through Guskara, Bhedia and onwards to Bolpur. The road is reasonably good. Then via Sriniketan More, Amar Kutir, Devagram, Parui, Purandarpur, reach Suri. Drive through Suri town, cross level crossing and then meet NH14 (old, NH60) (Panagarh – Morgram National Highway).
From this point of Suri (where the road from Sriniketan meets NH60), Tarapith is only 45 kms. After Mollarpur flyover the first crossing is Munsuba More. Leave that. Take right turn from Amba More. Then village road start. Go through Mahula, Valian, Atlagram . Tarapith is only 7 km from Ambassador More.
However, from the same point if one drives straight on NH60 upto Rampurhat to reach Tarapith, the distance would be 60 kms.
