Biker luckily saved even after the wheel of tractor trailer went over his head in Dahod, Gujarat

The wheels of the tractor trailer went over the biker's head who fortunately was wearing a helmet. The lady riding pillion with a child in her arms wasn't wearing a helmet. They survived without a scratch on their body.
The incident happened in Dahod, Gujarat sometime in mid September 2021.
Wondering if they have learnt a lesson. Even for a short ride outside the house, a helmet can be a life saver. They might not be as lucky once again.

Moulisa Resort, Joypur Forest, Bankura - Indian Roadie Blacklisted Hotel

I read about the experiences of some men and women who were guests of MOULISA RESORT in Joypur Forest, Bankura district in July, August, September 2021.
It's located close to Banalata Hotel.
Prima facie it looks nice from outside. However, the guest rooms are gaudily painted, shabby and dirty, the beds are uncomfortable, the toilets in the washrooms don't have seat covers, TV doesn't work because they don't pay the service providers, food is expensive and of inferior quality, heavily understaffed!
Strictly avoid.

Sprinkle water on the engine bay before parking at night to ward off rats - Indian Roadie Hacks

Just before parking the car in the garage after a drive, irrespective of that being a meagre 2 kms or a somewhat decent 35 kms, I open the bonnet and sprinkle 500 ml to 1000 ml of plain water from an aerated drinks plastic bottle everywhere in the engine bay.
It's a 'jugaad' (hack) that I have been practicing since 1985 or even earlier. In the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s I used to see my dad doing the same with our adorable Standard Super 10 and thereafter, the Premier Padmini.
The idea is to keep the engine bay clean. Psychologically, it's a good feeling, too knowing that the heart under the bonnet, viz. the engine bay is as clean as the exterior body surface of the car.
Most importantly, the act partially negates the menace of rats chewing up wires and plastic + rubber components in the engine at night. The frequent crude wash after driving or even after idling the engine helps to reduce or eliminate the smell of rat pee and rat poop 💩 which in reality attracts the devils!
However, this surely is not a foolproof 'jugaad', but nevertheless, helpful!
I did the same on 2021-09-22 after a short drive of 5 kms only and decided to share what I practice with fellow roadies.
Does anybody else do something similar?
If you too have been doing it, please let us know if it helps.

WB Police seems to be on a purposeful mission to damage vehicle and hurt roadies

Morning drive from Kolkata to Panskura and back on Saturday, 2021-09-25 by Indian Roadie member Arnab Bhowmick.
Post Uluberia there were these barriers on NH16 which were invisible to naked eye in the daytime. The barriers do not have any reflectors or signages. At dusk and night these would be even more dangerous for vehicles and drivers. Wondering if the West Bengal Police purposefully intend to harm vehicles and drivers. Very alarming trend. Location: From Uluberia to Panskura in West Bengal.

Hats off to the perseverance and grit of Paramjeet Singh, Auto Rickshaw owner-driver in New Delhi

He grew up in a middle class family in Lodhi Colony, Delhi.
His dad was a civil servant and had a govt. accommodation.
He went to Dayal Singh College and started his own business. At one point, he was the sole distributor of the brand Rasna. He had a big godown in Lajpat Nagar, with 7-8 autos delivering Rasna all over Delhi. He was known in every market. Life was great.
Then the 1984 riots happened. He lost his entire godown, 8 autos and even the dealership.
Tried working with various food companies, but it didn’t work out.
So he restarted life by buying a taxi and driving it. Always in a crisp white uniform.
Six-seven years later, while returning from Mussoorie, he had a terrible accident.
Was in coma for 13 days. Woke up in a Dehradun hospital with knees, rib cage and one hand crushed.
Doctors at Safdarjung Hospital healed him over 3 months. This was followed by another 3.5 months of physio & exercises.
He got back on his feet but the car couldn't. So he bought an auto. But a few years later, he had a stroke.
It took time but he recovered fully. He now drives an auto, never refuses a passenger, has been cheated by customers. But still smiles and talks politely. Wahe Guru, he says.
After reading his story, I feel like, no matters how tough your life is, you need be strong and hopeful through out it all. Trust me, every cloud has a silver lining.
Hats Off to you, Mr.Paramjeet Singh.
Huge respect for him, his resilience and his spirit.
