Revving a cold engine can cause irreversible harm

Revving an engine immediately after starting, especially when it’s cold, can cause undue stress on engine components. It’s best to let a car idle for a minute or two, allowing the oil to warm up and circulate properly, ensuring all parts are well lubricated before you hit the road.

Allow the engine to idle for a few minutes after starting, especially in cold weather, to let the oil circulate and reach optimal temperature.

Irrespective of how modern a car is, open the bonnet at every 3 - 4 days interval if not more frequently, pull out the dip stick and check the oil level and top up if necessary, ensuring proper lubrication during the warm-up phase.
