A horrific accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Ratlam district, Madhya Pradesh claimed five lives early on Friday 2025-11-14 morning when a speeding Mahindra XUV700 lost control and plunged nearly 25 feet into a roadside ditch near the Mahi River Bridge. The SUV, travelling from Delhi toward Mumbai, smashed through the safety railing after suddenly swerving on a straight stretch near Bhimpura village in Rawti tehsil.
All five occupants, identified as Danish Usman Choudhary of Vadodara, Ghulam Rasool Choudhary (70), Khalid Ghulam Choudhary, Ghulam Moiddin Choudhary (15), and driver Duraj (35), all from Mumbai died instantly.
Police suspect excessive speed and possible driver fatigue as the primary causes, with CCTV footage showing the vehicle veering abruptly on a straight stretch before the crash.
The victims were reportedly returning from a family wedding in Uttar Pradesh. Rescue operation was challenging due to the mangled condition of the vehicle.
