VW to close 3 plants in Germany

After several warnings and media reports regarding Volkswagen’s financial problems, the car giant has decided to close at least three plants in their home country, cutting thousands of jobs, and decreasing pay by 10% for the remaining staff. It will be the first time that the company will be closing a plant in Germany in its entire 87 years of operation.

Indian Roadie Hack to rectify sloppy throttle response in VW cars

Has anyone tried this hack to correct sloppy throttle response in their VW Vento or VW Polo or VW Ameo diesel car?
Sounds extremely interesting.
We wonder if this simple hack works in any of the other brands of cars available in India 🤔

I love my VW Vento because it's a nice looking and comfortable car

VW Vento is a strong car indeed. I love it for its beautiful curves at the right places.
I will never boast that I feel safe because it's a strong car.
One can ill afford to play pranks with any brand of ride. I'd request all my roadie friends to be always gentle with your ride.
The brand positioning tagline for IndianRoadie, viz. #HighOnCognition is what I believe in and also what I follow.
That's exactly what keeps me safe  ..... that's my belief.

As a professional who loves to eat, sleep and drink everything that's sales/ marketing/ communication 24*7, I would love to convey to all that every existing or future car owner has his/ her own reasons to buy or not buy a particular car. It's not just price and safety features. Continuous insights studies harbouring on innumerable metrics are carried out. Ideal target audiences are identified. Markets are segmented accordingly.
Thereafter, new products are launched for almost every segment of customers depending on what the manufacturer wants. Individual brands, viz. Polo, Ameo, Baleno, Brezza, Hexa, Nexon, Figo Freestyle, Creta, etc, etc are promoted to target audiences with the right communication, which essentially is all about brand positioning.

Sabrina Horel & her husband drove 55,000 miles, 43 states in the US, 7 in Canada, and 16 months later

55,000 miles, 43 states in the US, 7 in Canada, and 16 months later, Sabrina Horel and her husband did it!!!

The couple are back to where it all started. It was a beautiful journey to watch this dream come alive. she remembers talking on Skype when they started dating long distance in 2013. They dreamt of having a VW someday and doing exactly this. It felt like such a silly dream at the time. It wasn't easy and there were moments when they wanted to give up and turn around. Now, she is glad that they didn't.

Volkswagen Jetta catches fire while parked in Kochi on 2017-02-01

My car, a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta Highline 2.0AT had on 8:30 am Wednesday, 1st February 2017 caught fire when parked at my office in Cochin.
Hardly 5 minutes after my arrival at office, I was informed by the neighbor's watchman, who was in a frantic and tensed state, that fumes were arising from under the bonnet of my car. On stepping outside the office, I was shocked and stunned to see dark fumes arising and also a burning fire under the bonnet, as visible from the sides through the tires. Desperate attempts by me and all those gathered to open the bonnet using the mechanism proved futile as by then the same had obviously failed.
It took a 45 min effort, during which the entire neighborhood stepped in, to douse the flames using buckets of water and garden hoses. The bonnet, during the effort, had to be manually pried open, in order to bring the flames under control. Also, due to the intense heat, the bonnet has in fact deformed.
The officials from the local dealer, Volkswagen Ernakulam KTC Cars arrived at my office after the flames were doused, and removed the car to their service center.
My shock and surprise about this incident is difficult to put into words. I shudder to think as to what would have happened, if I was in the car and the ignition turned on. The car's fuel tank was 75% full. It is also shocking that a VW premium car, which is not even two years old, would simply burst into flames when idle. My car was well maintained, and the entire service records are available with VW Ernakulam. In fact, my vehicle had even been sent for the company recall just a few months ago. Being a person who has always sworn by VW vehicles, and having just bought a brand new VW Polo GT TSI hardly a month ago, this incident is highly unpalatable and shocking to digest. The vehicle was only 1.5 years old. The vehicle is still covered under warranty. No modifications whatsoever existed on my car.
Today marks 15 days from the incident. Numerous emails have passed between me and Volkswagen Group Sales India with respect to this matter, to date. All I get is a funny sounding call center person reading to me from some script in response. In the interim, Volkswagen Ernakulam KTC Cars has raised an estimate of over Rs. 30 lakhs for repairing the car! The on-road price of the car at the time of purchase was only Rs. 25 lakhs.
Today, after a lot of talk, two people stating to be from Volkswagen India have arrived at Volkswagen Ernakulam KTC Cars and begun to inspect my car. When I spoke to them, they're response was that they would have to prepare a report and then discuss with their officials at Volkswagen Germany. So that obviously is going to take much more of time. Nobody has any answers.
What is even more distressing is that despite all these highly unacceptable delays, Volkswagen, Volkswagen India, Volkswagen Group Sales India or Volkswagen Ernakulam KTC Cars has not acceded to my request for a standby car. Any prudent man can come to a conclusion about the quality of a car if the same goes up in flames after hardly 1.5 years. It is shocking that they shy away from even the responsibility of providing a standby car, forget not giving a positive answer as to what they intend to do!
I write this here today as a dismayed, disgruntled and distressed customer. The purpose of writing this is 'caveat emptor' i.e. let the buyer beware. Being one of the first Latin terms I was taught when I took up law, the same has always stuck with me. But today, it seems I wasn't aware enough.
If you own or plan to buy a Volkswagen Jetta, Volkswagen Group Sales India's most premium sedan on the road today in India, BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!

Pathetic after sales service experience of Volkswagen Passat in Chennai

The after Sales service of high end VW (Volkswagen) vehicles viz. VW Passat and VW Toureg is really pathetic in terms of availability of spares and even the people who work seems to lack technical expertise in servicing these top end vehicles citing that these come as CBU and hence the spares need to come from the parent company in Germany, leave alone the cost sometimes they misdiagnose and the owner bears the brunt and I say on a average it takes 4 working days even to carry out the easiest work on these cars and SUV.

To share my story I request all in the forum to patiently read my story of disappointment.

I purchased a VW Passat 2010 in the month of September with a sense of pride and joy, but little did I know that I am going to see lots of tough time getting my after Sales services in future. As a passionate roadie I liked to take my VW Passat only on long highway trips and I was extremely happy with the performance and reliability of the car. Then to start with the problems my rear a/c vent Louvre broke and for getting it replaced after 45 days of delivery I had to wait for 90 days and end up paying 12k. Then each services done every year made my car unavailable for 6 days on average and costed nearly 22-32k depending on any wearable parts and consumables. Then as my car is on a very low mileage done, I was frustrated with the unavailable parts like even wiper blades and headlight washers pump and brake pads. Little did I bother about the cost and delay, but lastly when I left my vehicle for a job of hissing sound from the rear wheel and the scoring in the disc I personally told the person to change the brake pads and also to look into the suspension for a rattling noise, they delivered the car with the same problem persisting, then as a very loyal client I went again and left the vehicle and they carried out the job but they changed the wheel disc rotor and brake pads and all work was done and I was happy with the same, but all after 3 visits to the workshop and each costing me 30k. Today the final bill was 41k with a total mileage of 28k in the odometer.

Friends I appeal to all to share similar experience with VW and I really want to proceed with some action as I see that even if a part is fine they change the assembly in full. In this regard I think VW owners are facing real challenge.
I am going to mail the same to the parent VW company in Germany.

This is my story but I love my Passat and enjoy my drive.
