Avalabetta & Dandiganahalli Dam - single day trip from Bangalore

Avalabetta & Dandiganahalli Dam -  single day trip from Bangalore.
Lies close to 90 km from Bangalore city, Avalabetta hill is located in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka. Avalabetta hill is a perfect short hike for many of the hiking enthusiasts. There are two options to hike and reach on the top. First is going through a steep road this is the longer route and the other is stairs which are tedious but is shorter total distance is 2.5 km. The scenic views around are breathtaking. There are temples of Lord  Vishnu, Mahalakshmi and Anjaneyaon the top of the hill. If you are looking for an alternative to Nandi Hill this is the right option available.

Avalabetta Cliff: The main attraction of this place is the cliff which is now closed by the forest department however, one can still climb up the fencing and reach the cliff (only at your own risk). The cliff gives you a spectacular view of the surrounding hills.

As there is a limited option available to eat hence it is advisable to carry eatable items and water bottle along with you. You can find local villagers selling Cucumber, Coconut water and other local fruits at a very reasonable price. Also, the road conditions are impressive and the parking facilities are available for both two and four-wheeler vehicles.

Dandiganahalli Dam: Lies just 45 km from Avalabeta. Dandiganahalli is your perfect family picnic spot. This is one of the secluded and lesser know place near Bangalore one can enjoy the silence of this place. Dandiganahalli is more like a natural lake surrounded by hills. You can spend there as long as you want, no restriction, no permission is needed from the forest department. There is enough parking space available for two and four-wheeler vehicles however, the roads to the dam is patchy and broken so your journey is not going to be smooth.

How to reach:

Although you can get a bus for Chikkaballapur district from Bangalore itself however it is advisable to hire a taxi or a self-drive car or bike which you can easily rent from Zoomcar or drivezy.

Overall, it was a nice place to visit for a one day trip, not crowded and a calm and peaceful place to relax and enjoy with family and friends.
