Boat services from Alleppey (Alappuzah) to explore rural Kerala lifestyle

Kerala, God's Own Country is famous for its backwaters. Want to know how to explore villages, lifestyle extra of people living in island surrounded by backwaters without a hole in ur pockets.

"See Kuttanad" is a regular passenger boat service from DTPC jetty Alleppey  to the hamlet of Kainakary touching many other villages enroute. The journey takes about an hour one way and the boat turns back immediately (via a different route) to make it possible for a two hour round trip.

The upper deck of this boat is specifically reserved for tourists. It takes the same route which most of the house boats take in Alleppey (Alappuzah). You can also opt to get down at any of the ferry stops explore the village, have food in small setup which provides authentic kerela style home made food, visit local churches, even have interactive with school kids as lot of these take this ferry for their daily commute to schools which are located in backwaters..

All this for ₹200/per person (approx) for a round trip.

This is one scenic routes but there are tourist ferry on other routes as well.
