AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) can be fatal, don't take it lightly

Getting your car/ bike fully serviced for driving/ riding to Ladakh/ Arunachal Pradesh/ Sikkim is NOT enough. Even getting yourself fully checked for health issues is NOT enough.

Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) can strike anyone. A well built physically fit gentleman in his early 40s who was on his 13th drive to Ladakh lost his life in September 2019 within 45 minutes after AMS struck him near Pangong Lake.

The accompanying video by Ashish Bhatia will get you goosebumps on seeing the aftermaths of lack of oxygen and variation in atmospheric pressure. Do not take the dangers of AMS lightly.

This post is for enchutiasts who meet fellow roadies after remaining in matured road travel and automobiles forums like Indian Roadie for a couple of months or years and decide to get into adventure mode (all on their own) with the express belief that help will be at beck and call should the need arise.

In the event of extreme exigencies, it's not internet or AI that will save your life. It's physical human assistance because of widespread contacts which might save lives or get one out of extreme discomfiture!
