It's a scene from Maharashtra on NH44 between Nagpur and Hyderabad. Mahendra Singh, a trucker rightfully scared the cops, enough to dirty their pants!
These dacoits in government payrolls and attired in formal dress are seen shamelessly extorting money from road users on National Highways, State Highways, city roads and even obscure village roads throughout the country. This is in spite of earning decent monthly salaries and perks from taxpayers' money. Everyone knows about their existence.
Politicians, bureaucrats and judiciary keep blabbering about vanishing polluting vehicles on parameters which are laid out to suit personal interests but turns a blind eye to the greater malaise of rampant corruption and terror unleashed by police on roads.
With these or similar issues frequently coming to light in almost all over India, I as the founder of Indian Roadie (and associated forums) had rolled out PAIR-MT on 2023-01-18, an initiative to build 'mutual trust' (MT) between Police And Indian Roadie (PAIR) so that stakeholders appreciate that both exist for each other.
'PAIR - Mutual Trust' will also enable brands to project themselves as 'socially responsible' and in the process reach out to every nook and corner of India.
