Madras-Mantralyam and back via non-regular route in July 2024.
Onward: Madras-Chittoor-Hoskote-STRR-Devanahalli-Gooty-Aspari-Adoni-Yemmiganur-Mantralyam
Return-Mantralayam-Panchamukhi-Madhavaram-Adoni-Alur-Guntakal-Gooty-Devanahalli-STRR-Chittoor-Vellore-Madras
Nothing to update on Devanahalli-Gooty sector. Good as always.
Same on Chittoor-Hoskote sector too. Thankfully most of the speed breakers are gone.
Ranipet-Chittoor is totally messed up due to the 4-laning work. At least 1-2 diversions come up without any signage of where to go. On the return all traffic was diverted via Vellore. The first 2 km have massive craters where you have to be careful on any vehicle.
Gooty-Aspari-Adoni is generally good. One can maintain 60-80. There are some odd potholes/craters one has to see and avoid. As with the tradition, roads disappear once inside village.
Adoni bypass-Yemmiganur-Mantralyam is excellent wide 2-lane where one can do 80 easily.
Mantralayam-Madhavaram-Tungabadhra-Panchamukhi is good 2-lane.
Madhavaram-Adoni ranges from good to average. 60-80 at best. Would rate below Gooty-Pattikonda.
Adoni bypass (western) is avoidable.
Adoni-Alur is a wide 2-lane dream run.
Entry to Alur is god awful. Through town are so-so.
Alur-Guntakal is very good 2-lane. Road narrows down for a 3 km stretch and expands again.
Guntakal bypass is non-existent. Roads inside town are wide. Just that there are massive speed breakers as well.
Guntakal to Gooty 4-lane is ok. Stops 3 km before Gooty. And a small 200 meter section where it is incomplete.
