Bhagwat Prasad Pandey, a police officer of Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh became a household name pan-India by May 2020 (Episode 09).
I (Deep Banerjee) happened to bump into him on social media sometime in March 2020 when the scare of Corona had just started rearing its ugly head. Bhagwat Prasad Pandey had posted his first ever live video on Facebook from somewhere around Singrauli where he had gone to appreciate nature driving his official Mahindra Bolero. With my own fetish for proper communication, I took a liking for him instantly.
An honest to the core and a no-nonsense officer, he spent 18 - 19 hrs a day on the roads of scorching hot and dusty Sidhi and surrounding villages. He was my model Indian Roadie who perfectly fitted the motto of #LiveToHelp_HappyToDrive. It's little wonders that I invited him to be a part of Indian Roadie.
The way he enforced strict lockdown during the 1st wave of Corona, provided free food, medicines,  masks and essential items to the needy, and ensured reasonably decent quarantine facilities to migrant workers was amazing.
His sense of humor, ability to coin short rhymes on the spur of the moment and mete out unique punishments to those who knowingly broke lockdown guidelines earned him huge respect. Our friend is an awesome singer with a great voice, too.
Every morning and evening he went live on Facebook and people not only in Sidhi, but also from across India and overseas would eagerly wait to watch him 'live' on Facebook. I was no exception either. I too remained glued to my mobile to watch him live everyday.
I can't think of a better example of anyone having seamlessly put Social Media to good use for 'Personal Branding and Reputation Management'.
One fateful day I saw him fining this obnoxious Chauhan guy in a dark blue ₹82 lakhs BMW. That was possibly in July 2020. In less than a week after the incident he was ordered off duty and assigned to the police lines. The rich guy who had an axe to grind, had obviously pulled strings in higher echelons of power in MP and succeeded in removing a star officer from active duty. I myself was heartbroken, too.
Social Media was filled to the brim with people expressing extreme unhappiness on the removal of a loved lawkeeper. I too wrote on various social media forums seeking for his reinstatement.
However, the wishes of New India prevailed. Within 2 - 3 weeks of his removal, Bhagwat Prasad Pandey was reinstated with full honours and possibly with a promotion because he was seen moving around in a bigger and more comfortable Mahindra Scorpio.
#BhagwatPrasadPandey is our Indian Roadie of the difficult times.
With responsible and self motivated 'coronawarriors' like Bhagwat Prasad Pandey in the forefront, 'INDIA JITEGA, CORONA HAREGA' (a popular phrase coined by our talented friend).
Bharat Mata Ki Jai 🙏
Fellow Indian Roadie fans and members, please join me in writing a few words to keep the adrenaline in the young officer running high.
Let us all wish Bhagwat Prasad Pandey every success in his career and pray for a very happy personal life.
P.S: Quite a few episodes of his diligent work during the 1st wave of Corona in 2020 are already there in Indian Roadie, Marketing Gyanology, Marketingpundit, Education And Career Pundit.
