Bhagwat Prasad Pandey, MP Police Officer (Episode 01) is always Happy To Help

Madhya Pradesh cop, Bhagwat Prasad Pandey is schooling Covid-19 lockdown violators in his unique style and creative ways of policing ever since March - April 2020.
He has been spotted using mimicry and poetry to make people follow lockdown rules. Not just this, the real-life Robinhood Pandey is frequently seen helping the needy and elderly while on duty in the small district town of Sidhi and surrounding villages in Madhya Pradesh.
His ability to spontaneously say rhyming couplets is praiseworthy.
While fulfilling his responsibility, this able cop who is always seen on the road in his Mahindra Bolero, is surely giving us reasons to smile while urging people to stay at home.
Bhagwat Prasad Pandey is our perfect IndianRoadie. He deserves the proverbial 'carrot' in 'CarrotNStick'.
We in Indian Roadie wish him every success, happiness and career progression. India needs lots of able cops like him.
Bhagwat Prasad Pandey is a glowing example of how to use social media fruitfully for 'personal branding' and 'reputation management'.

Bike ride on narrow road between sea and river near Pithrody Beach near Udupi in KA during monsoons 2019

Udupi - Pithrody Beach - Jog falls - Gokarna - Murdeshwar - Udupi monsoon ride 2019.

The feeling of riding on a narrow road with two different types of water bodies, viz. Arabian Sea on one side and river on the other is just so amazingly satisfying.
The videos were shot on a 10 km stretch from Mattu Beach to Malpe Beach near Udupi in Karnataka, a little north of Mangalore.

It's not a simple fill it, shut it, forget it for a large chunk of the Indian populace whose life would come to a grinding halt without regular supplies of petrol, diesel or kerosene.

Buddhist monastery in the picturesque village of Likir in Ladakh, off Srinagar - Leh Highway

The Likir Monastery or Likir Gompa is one of the oldest and well maintained monasteries in Ladakh district in Jammu and Kashmir. The monastery is located in Likir village. It is believed to have been in existence since 11th century. The original name of Likir monastery is Klu-kkhyil gompa. Besides being the oldest, the monastery is also known for the 75 feet statue of Buddha.

About 52 kms west of Leh in Indus Valley, the picturesque village of Likir is believed to be among the oldest villages of India. Every Indian Roadie, Shetravels India, Backpacking India on Road, Global Roadie follower must visit, rather drive/ ride to the monastery which is about 9.5 kms north of the Srinigar to Leh highway.

Likir means the Naga encircled. The monastery got its name as it is believed two serpent spirits – Nanda and Taksako – guard it. The gompa belongs to Gelugpa sect of Buddhism which is also referred as Yellow Hat sect. It was founded by Tsongkhapa in 15th century.

Contact: Stanzin Takspa of Ladakh Trekking Old Likir Guest House, located right next to Likir Monastery in Ladakh. He can help connect Indian Roadie, Shetravels India, Backpacking India on Road, Global Roadie followers for short stays at the monastery.

Let's explore India together on road

I am at Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary, the land of leopards in the state of Chattisgarh, India while driving solo from Pune to Kolkata.
I love to see India while travelling together with wanderlust backpacking travellers from throughout the world. 3 to 4 persons at a time from across the world are invited to travel with me in my car (SUV or sedan) at a very low cost (we will go Dutch!) in total comfort and absolute safety.
In the process, my travelbuddies get a true feel of entire India, its culture, topography, people, food, etc, etc. I get them to talk to the local populace in villages/ towns/ cities, school students, and also engineering/ business school students at various locations to understand the true India.
Multiple numbers of driving circuits have been planned for all weather round the year drives. However, we strictly do not drive during the night.
For students, researchers, bloggers, photographers, friends, couples, backpackers this will be one cherished and unforgettable holiday. This is not a business proposition. We simply embark on a journey and drive around as friends!

Does this sound interesting? Do you have friends who could be interested in joining me?

6800 kms Indian Beach Drive - Day 1 of 19 (2015-03-18) - Kolkata to Vizag by Deep Banerjee

2015-03-18 - Day 1 - Start of an epic 19 days and 6800 kms long solo Indian Roadie Beach Drive with wife, daughter, brother-in-law and his wife to all five states in South India, Konkan coast of Karnataka, Goa from Kolkata, India in my 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI.
Left residence near Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata at 3-45am, with odometer reading showing 22830 kms and tripmeter reading showing 0 kms.

Daughter Diksha, a big road travel enthusiast is visibly happy.

Left Ashabari Housing Complex, Baisnabhghata Patuli after picking up my bother-in-law (Anjan da) and his wife at 4.30am.

Target destination for the day: Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh.
Could reach: Visakhapatnam.

2015-03-18 - Day 1 of 19 - At 6-07am, cruising over the Rupnarayan River bridge before Kolaghat. On Rupnarayan River bridge, tripmeter reading for the day showed 87 kms (Odometer reading: 22917 kms).

Crossing Sher-E-Punjab Hotel, Kolaghat just across the bridge over River Rupnarayan.

Quite a few flyovers are being constructed on NH6 between Kolaghat and Kharagpur.
This and the adjoining rumbles slowed down my average rolling pace considerably early during Day 1 (2013-05-18).

West Land Baroma Hospital on NH6 looked clean and bright against the rising sun.

Bartaman publications office on NH6, also looks bright.

Bright and colourful! On NH6, somewhere between Kolaghat and Kharagpur.

Note the quantum of luggage!

2015-03-18 - Day 1 - Me with my 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI.
This was the 1st stop on NH60 from 7.35am to 7.40am, 181 kms from flag off, to stretch arms, somewhere near Belda, Purba Medinipur district, West Bengal.

Balasore is 85 kms and Bhubaneswar 280 kms ahead.

Chele La, Bhutan conquered in January 2015 by Aritra Sanyal

Indian Roadie, Aritra Sanyal, an youngster in his early 20s is a resident of Burdwan, West Bengal and a 7th semester B.Tech (Computer Science) student at Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology, Kolkata. His schooling is from Sri Ramakrishna Saradapith School. He rides a Hero Karizma R bike whenever he is at his hometown in Burdwan.

Days 1 and 2: Three friends, including Aritra, in individual bikes left Burdwan in January 2015, rode on NH60, NH34 and NH31 to reach Jaigaon (Indian side of the border with Bhutan).

Day 3: From Phuentsoling rode straight to Thimpu.

Day 4: After getting all the permissions from Thimpu for riding to restricted places, the three bikers rode towards Paro.

Day 5: Started early morning from Paro. There was heavy ice formation on the road after a few kms. Two of his mates could not make it to Chele La because they slipped on the slushy road and aborted the journey ahead. One of them even suffered a serious knee injury.
Only Aritra could make it to ‪Chele La‬ pass (3988 mtrs ASL), which is about 40 kms from Paro.
Haa Valley was just a few kms away, but Aritra too couldn't reach there because of paucity of time.
Aritra and his two friends, then directly road back to Phuentsholing. They exited Bhutan and stayed in Jaigaon for the night.

Day 6: They had planned to ride back to Burdwan. However, since there was an injured rider, they had to make arrangements to ship his bike back to Burdwan with the help of GATI, the logistics company. They changed their plan and stayed back in Siliguri for the night.

Day 7: Started from Siliguri and headed straight back to Burdwan via Malda (NH34 & NH60).

Aritra says that he will make a try for the same location once again, but with sufficient protection viz. ice-chains or ropes.

Car ride from India to Bangladesh might be a reality soon

The infamous partition of India forced my grandfather to leave Bangladesh (erstwhile, East Bengal) and flee to India on foot, leaving behind every piece of belongings.

Now I (Deep Banerjee) can dream of fulfilling a long desire of driving my own car to Bangladesh from India.
