It was my 1st ever short ride of 7.5 kms from home near Salt Lake Stadium by MyWB38A0582 to Chowbhaga Wholesale Vegetables Market, off. SH3 (Basanti Highway), Kolkata on 2023-05-16 late afternoon to fetch mangoes and vegetables at a far lesser price than what is available in the markets in Salt Lake, Beliaghata, Gariahat or Behala within Kolkata.
It was a new learning experience. Most of the 'lungi' clad sellers were extremely ill behaved. They were stinking of excessive raw cash in their possession.
What was really of concern is that the signs of demographics of West Bengal having drastically changed by virtue of rampant infiltration and uncontrolled procreation was telltale visible.
Bargaining to bring down the price of commodities by even ₹1 per kg was almost impossible. I took it up as a challenge to negotiate and haggled down the price of mangoes by ₹4 per kg. It surely made me feel like a winner.
