Bangalore to Udupi (Bangalore_Udupi), Bangalore to Manipal (Bangalore_Manipal) and back with budget friendly stay in Udupi.
Date: Onwards drive on 29/11/2021, return drive on 02/12/2021.
Distance: 405 kms (one way).
Time taken : 8 ½ hrs including ½ hr break.
Route: Bangalore - Hassan - Bellur - Bankal - Charmady - Ghat - Ujire - Karkala - Udupi.
Road conditions:
Bangalore to Hassan four lane road with four tolls smooth like a butter, lot of hotels for your breakfast or Lunch or dinner.

Hassan to Bellur single lane road, not much of a traffic and road conditions good. Few hotels available but opens only after 9am.
Bellur to Bankal again single road, road widening work is under progress so lot of diversion.
Bankal to Ujire via Charmady Ghat is super with lot of scenic views, single lane need to be careful at the blind curves and hairpin bends. No mobile signals in the Ghat
Ujire to Karakala single lane with about 5 kms of road work under progress. Rest of the stretch good, need to watch on the local traffic during day time.
Karkala to Udupi good roads as the road widening work is completed.
After Hassan not much of eateries till Udupi, so plan your breaks properly.
While returning had a small detour went to Dharmastala, just 9 kms from Ujire, good dharshan at the temple, Annadhanam starts from morning 11 am.
