Chennai to Mangalore - Indian Roadie Preferred Route/ Motoring Route


Indian Roadie Preferred Route/ Motoring Route/ Driving Route/ Road Route for 

Chennai to Mangalore 
(Chennai_Mangalore): 

Chennai - Sriperumbudur - Kanchipuram - Ranipet - Chittoor - Kolar - Doddaballapura (northern outskirts of Bangalore) - Dobbaspet (crossing of NH48, ROR: Tumkur) - Kudur - Kunigal bypass - Bellur Cross - Devihalli Toll Plaza - Hirisave - Channarayapattana/ CR Patna bypass - Hassan - and then via ....... 

Chennai to Hassan = 540 kms. 

Option 1: Belur - Mudigere - Kottigehara - Charmadi Ghat (twist & turns are aplenty) - Ujire - Belthangadi - Madanthyar - Bantwal - Mangalore (13 hours as in January 2022). 

This route mainly traverses along the northern banks of Netravathi River. 
Hassan to Belur = 36 kms. 
Belur to Charmadi Ghat viewpoint = 60 kms. 
Charmadi Ghat to Mangalore = 92 kms. 
Option 2: Alur bypass - Sakleshpura - Marnahalli - Gundya - Addahole - Shiradi Ghat - Nelyadi - Konalu - Bajathuru - Puttur - Kadambu - BPCL Sathikallu - Uppinangady - Mangalore. 

This route mainly traverses along the southern banks of Netravathi River. 
Hassan to Shiradi = 86 kms. 
Shiradi to Mangalore = 85 kms. 
Option 3:  Belur - Mudigere - Kottigehara - Chikmagalur - Kudermukh/ Kudremukha - Karkala junction - Padubidri - Mangalore. 

This route is longer but the roads are smooth, scenic, has lesser number of heavy vehicles and takes same time as other conventional routes. 
Hassan to Belur = 36 kms. 
Belur to Kottigehara milestone = 47 kms. 
Kottigehara to Kudremukha = 60 kms. 
Kudremukha to Mangalore = 97 kms.
