I along with 2 of my friends are returning to Mumbai and are close to Nasik. We have halted for lunch.

Last 15 days we have been traveling in our own Hyundai Creta from Mumbai to Haridwar, Hrishikesh, Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Nainital, Agra, Khajuraho, Bhopal, Indore and back. We are in the last lap of our journey on 15th day.

We would clock about 5,500 + KMs by the time our vehicle rests in the garage!!

Maharashtra, MP, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, UP, are the states we travelled and crossed major rivers like Tapi, Narmada, Kshipra, Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati, Alaknanda, Bhagirathi etc.

Such a beautiful country spread over thousands of KMs and such a diversity. ....

It’s a pleasure indeed......
Mera. Bharat Mahan ... truly!!!!

Part 2 -

From Western Peninsula of Mumbai we travelled towards north west and then towards north. While returning we came via Central India back home.

We saw a clear transformation of practically everything around us. The shapes and sizes of the Great Sahyadri range starts to appear like elongated hills. The mighty Himalaya beats every other mountain range by a great scale. Be it Sahyadri, Aravali or Shivalik. The river gets defined better when one sees Ganga and Yamuna.

The fields, crops, trees birds .... everywhere is different. Even the shades of green change. The skies are blue in a copy book style.

The types of cattle change. The housing and structures change. Even the headgears change alongside the dress materials.  The language changes and the way locals greet also changes. It’s great to see people saying Namaste with folded hands in a traditional manner. No wonder if food habits and cuisine changes too.

One welcome change needs to be underlined and that is - excellent road conditions and great awareness about overall cleanliness. Should this enthusiasm continue further for another 5 to 10 more years and we will see a different India for sure.

Drive undertaken and documented by Vinayak Mauskat, resident of Mumbai.
