Road trip by Mahindra XUV500 covering Bangalore - Honnavar - Kollur - Udupi - Bangalore in end May 2023.
Road update:
Bangalore - Honnavar via Chitradurga-Ranebennur - Hirekerur - Shiralakoppa - Soraba - Siddapur - Masinagudi . Excellent roads throughout. Left Bangalore at 9.30 AM and we were in Honnavar Eco beach at 6 PM with one hour lunch break At excellent restaurant of Apoorva resort bang on highway at Davanagere
Honnavar - Kollur via Kundapur - Baindur. Excellent roads throughout. Some parts of highway go through Honnavar town. Otherwise good road. Left Honnavar at 10 AM and we were in Kollur by 12.15 PM
Kollur - Udupi via Vandse - Kundapur. No complaints. Good roads.
Udupi - Bangalore via Karkala - Belthangady - Charmadi ghat - Mudigere - Hassan. Left Udupi at 6 AM and were at NICE road entry point at Tumkur road at 2.15 with good BF break at Belthangady in newly Opened Durga Delicacy opposite bus stand and coffee break after Banakal at Ibbani cafe. Excellent coffee!
Udupi - Hiriadka - road widening happening. Few deviations. No major issues
Hiriadka - Karkala - Belthangady - Ujire - Good roads. No issues. Some broken patches. Need to see how it holds after rains.
Charmadi ghat - Road is very good condition. Road is being widened for few KMs before the start of ghat from Ujire side. Few places after the mid point being repaired as road has caved in. No worries as such. Lovely drive.
Kottigehara to Hassan via Mudigere and Belur - Lovely road. The road between Kottigehara and Mudigere is widened and nice. It is good to take Hassan bypass which will join at Diary circle. But many humps have come up which was not there last year.
Hassan - Bangalore - Excellent road. All work on Channarayapatna bye pass is complete. It is lovely road. One flyover at Hirisave is yet to complete. But the road is wide and good.
