Dr. Deepa Sharma (34), an energetic Ayurvedic doctor from Jaipur and an avid traveller had Tweeted on Saturday, 2021-07-24 at 5.27 pm, 'Life is nothing without mother nature ❤' while posing for photo of Batseri bridge and Baspa River in the same frame.
In about 20 hrs from then, i.e. on Sunday, 2021-07-25 afternoon Dr. Deepa was no more. The fury of Mother Nature snatched her away.
The Tempo Traveller in which she was travelling was hit by one of the boulders which came hurtling down from the top near Batseri village on Sangla - Chitkul road in Sangla taluka, Kinnaur district, Himachal Pradesh. The Tempo Traveller landed in a deep gorge in the hills, killing 9 people instantly and grievously injuring 3 (including 2 tourists and 1 pedestrian).
One of the boulders fell on the bridge resulting in its collapse.
