Naveen Bhardwaj and Shiril Oberoi miraculously survived the crash on 2021-07-25 afternoon when one of the boulders which came hurtling down from the top near Batseri village on Sangla - Chitkul road in Sangla taluka, Kinnaur district, Himachal Pradesh hit the Tempo Traveller they were travelling in.
The Tempo Traveller landed in a deep gorge in the hills, killing 9 other tourists including the driver instantly and grievously injuring 3 (including the 2 tourists, viz. Naveen and Shiril and 1 pedestrian).
While the Tempo Traveller rolled down into the gorge, the two men in their late 30s were thrown off the vehicle.
