The worst nightmare one could expect while driving in Ladakh is a blown out tyre at a dizzying height of 16,000 feet with low oxygen level and 0° temperature outside. Moreover, the very thought of having to cross the treacherous Baralacha la within the next few kilometres with one blown out tyre was outright scary.
Incidentally, the tyre brand was Apollo.
Incident took place at Lachalung la pass in August 2023. Had a tyre sidewall cut from a stone on the broken road.
