Road trip to Satkosia Sand Resort (located in the south banks of Mahanadi River, near Barpali, Odisha) with family in December 2021.

For night stay there are 3 options:
Non AC tents (on the sand in Mahanadi riverbed).
AC tent (along the hillside).
AC cottage (along the hillside).

The room tariff is inclusive of food for 2 persons for the whole day.

They have miscellaneous entertainment facilities, viz. volleyball, badminton, archery, cycling, canopy walk, jungle trekking, library, folk dance, bonfire, etc.

The hospitality, housekeeping and behaviour of staff are excellent.

The natural beauty of the place is hard to describe in words.
The sunset and sunrise are a sight to behold.
While cruising on a speedboat in Mahanadi River, one can spot plenty of crocodiles and turtles resting on the river banks. Numerous species of birds can also be seen.

Varanasi to have ropeway for public transportation in 2022

True Indians will be delighted to learn that Varanasi, infamous for it's overcrowded streets will join the list of world's handful of cities which will have a 4 kms stretch of ropeway (in Phase 1) for public transportation.
A round trip will transport upwards of 7000 people. The service will be available 24x7. It is expected to start ferrying people right upto Dasas Swamedh Ghat on the banks of Ganga River in 2022 itself.

It's a known fact that some people will be mighty displeased to know about this development, but no one cares about what and how they feel!

Road trip from Bangalore to Bidadi for Thatte Idli and Filter Coffee by Nitin Sinha on 2021-12-11

This post is dedicated to all those who love Idli.

Date of Journey: 11th December 2021
Car: Ford Endeavor

Bangalore - Bidadi - Bangalore

Bidadi is a small town on the outskirts of Bangalore on the Mysore Road. The place is famous for what is called as “Thatte Idli”
This is different form regular Idli in the sense that it’s larger in size (circumference) and a bit thicker too.
On the road one will find numerous shops selling Thatte Idli.

On 2021-12-11 morning we thought of going to this place and taste the mouth watering Idli. We started around 7:00 in the morning. Took the regular MG Road, Hudson circle, city market, Kengeri route to Bidadi. Took around an hour in the morning to reach this place.
It has a huge parking space and that’s an advantage with the ongoing road widening work on the BLR-Mysore route.
The taste of Idli and Chutney is amazing! The Idli was so soft that it would as if melt in the mouth 😋😋. It was looking so nice while served that before taking the pic itself we had one bite of it 😊
Post Idli, it’s customary to have the steaming filter coffee and we had that too.
On return, we took the NICE road to reach Bangalore. The longer route took around 1:15 mins. Concrete work on the NICE road is ongoing for some portions between Mysore Road entrance to Electronics City/ Hosur Road exit. Otherwise it’s a pleasure to drive on this road.
